Thethalamusisacentralareathatrelatestotherestofthebrainandactsasthepostoffice,saidHasan,firstauthorofthepaper.Italsoisanareathathastheleastamountofdamagefromlesions(损害)inthebrainbutweseevolumeloss,soitappearsotherbraindamagerelatedtothediseaseisalsooccurring.
